Darien Revitalization Initiative closing up shop after three years | DarienTimes.com: "After three years of working to turn downtown Darien into a New England Main Street, the Darien Revitalization Initiative has disbanded. The eight-member DRI Board of Directors voted last week to end the initiative, which began in 2004. To avoid duplicating efforts and to consolidate resources, DRI will turn over its efforts to support downtown to various town commissions and related entities. Those entities could include the town Beautification Commission and the new town Tree Commission, which is similar to DRI’s recently formed tree committee."
